Abstract

1.Friends….Prashanti is Yoga centre and thereby it is useful for many of us.
2.Sun is useful because it gives light. River is useful because it gives rain.
3.Everything is measured in terms of usefulness or utility.
4.Several objects are neither useful nor useless. Those are nuisance or botheration. Some objects aredangerous.
5.Thus objects or activities can be categorized in four ways: useful, useless, nuisance & dangerous. Someactivities may be useful to some people and nuisance to other at same time.
6.Yoga is useful to all people, all the time and everywhere.
7.Yoga gives physical and mental health to serve the society peacefully. Yogi is peaceful and gives peace toothers.
8.Truth gives strength of mind. Strength gives you courage and calmness.
9.Yoga gives spiritual wisdom. It is highest action in non-action. We all are in chain of action or reaction.
10.Every action is combination of good and bad. It keeps us in cycle of death and birth. Yoga is performingevery action by being useful to others. Let’s meditate on smiling face of Lord Krishna.

Prof K Subramanyam PhD
Dean, Division of Yoga and Humanities, has a specialization in English Literature
(American and lndo-Anglian as optionals) and Philosophy (Gandhian Philosophy - optional). He is presently
the Honorary Adviser, Vivekananda College, Tiruvekadam, Madurai District. He has been a Member, NAAC peer team.
He has authored 14 books on various topics including books on Education. He has presented and published a large
number of papers on socially relevant and spiritual topics. He is a prolific speaker with an ability to weave
magic with his words, with a capacity to talk to people at all levels.
