Earlier to Patanjali the Yoga was available but they were all in different places, different small small books and others and it was a time that it should all be brought into a single book, compile them, edit them, put them in a logical framework. That is the work of Patanjali. Therefore Patanjali Yoga sutra 900 BC is the original text of Yoga, they are available. Even today the same form as it was written probably 900 BC. And that has been considered has one of the Shadh darshanas, one of the six systems of Darshanas means philosophy, nyaya, vaisheshka, sankhya, yoga, purabmimamsa, uttara mimamsa. One of the six systems of philosophy which are developed in our country. And the key essence of Patanjali Yoga sutra is the prakruti and the purusha. That forms the basis of the Patanjali yoga sutra.
