Swami Vivekananda said when you want to transform the society the individual should change because individuals are the components of the entire society. Therefore the first and the foremost thing is if we want that the society should change, the world should change, peace should pervade, there should be proper harmony, love and bliss everywhere and good health everywhere we should start developing these things individually. Therefore he gave the formula ‘Be and Make’. There the ‘be’ is the first thing that we have to do that means everyone of us should make a determination of practicing yoga, transforming ourselves raise from the Tamas to Rajas, Rajas to Sattva. And this transformation in all of us will start spreading the harmony, love and affection in the society. And then the second component you want to make the society. There is the macroscopic dimension. The macroscopic dimension of the growth of Yoga for the society has a higher influence. When certain number of people in the society start practicing Yoga there is going to be automatic transformation of the whole society. This is based on the principle of quantum physics. In quantum physics it is very well known that if you have one chamber containing all molecules and normally all molecules will be going hither tither, hither tither like this in a random way. By some process of magnetic induction let us say if you are able to channelise one percent of the molecules in particular direction then all other molecules will also follow suit and they also start moving in that direction. How this happens? It is a quantum phenomenon. Therefore one percent of the population if they practise the Yoga, harmony, love, peace. Then all the people in the society will start moving towards it and that is the whole dimension brought out from modern science. Therefore in our country we have a number of such organizations, the festivals, the vratas and the nemas and so on in which people would be working together harmoniously for developing this thing. So if the critical mass of one person comes then the whole society is going to change. And there is going to be a complete transformation of the whole society. Therefore it is always aimed at having at least one person of the people practicing yoga in every city, every corner, every village. And that is how the things are put and for this to make possible there used to be different temples and large number of festivals. Again and again you have to be brought so that you harmonize yourself and bring out the change. This is how it was knit and it has built ideal social orders in our country and shown to the world at large that it is possible to rebuild the society in which all people live healthy, happy and in harmony, in love and peace. And that is how the Yoga brings about a social transformation, Yoga for all.
