Prashanti hosts Nobel Laureate

Dr Sampath’s Address 2009

PRASHANTI KUTIRAM, Bangalore, Karnataka (India) March 29, 2009 -- SVYASA played host to Nobel Laureate Dr Sam Sampath at its Prashanti Kutiram campus in Bangalore.

Dr. Sampath has been involved with aircraft engine emissions during the entire period at PWC and his contributions have been recognized as contributing to the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize to Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Dr. Sampath talked on Global Warming touching upon topics such as ozone layer depletion, noise pollution and various other hazards to the environment. His lecture evoked lots of curious responses from a large section of the audience. Dr Sampath, himself a yoga practitioner, lauded the efforts of Dr HR Nagendra, the VC of SVYASA for his efforts to rekindle the tradition of Yoga.

Sri Asok Kumar, Assistant Professor, Division of Yoga and Management Studies, chiefly instrumental in bringing Dr Sampath to Prashanti, was also present at the function.

The program concluded after presentation of SVYASA publications and a portrait of Lord Venkateshwara to Dr Sam Sampath
