Center for Excellence
DELHI, India 25th February, 2009 – AYUSH has recognized SVYASA as a Centre for Excellence in Yoga.
The Department of Ayush under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India has recognized SVYASA as a Center for Excellence in Yoga. Along with this recognition, SVYASA has been granted Rs 5 crore aid. The communication about the grant-in aid was sent through Letter
No. Z-15015/10/2009-E&C duly signed by the Under Secretary, Govt. of India, Sri Suman Chatterjee
AYUSH was established as Department of Indian Systems of Medicines and Homoeopathy 1995.
Dr HR Nagendra, VC, SVYASA said, “Department of Ayush is putting in phenomenal effort to revive the Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy.” He added, “We are aware of the tremendous responsibility a Center for Excellence has to bear and we wish to express that SVYASA is prepared to shoulder the same. We are grateful for the support of AYUSH.”
SVYASA will soon be starting more Yoga-related courses at the Graduate and Post-Graduate levels including a BNYS programme.
About SVYASA:
SVYASA is a unique University which is a mix between an Ashram and a modern university. Classes are conducted in the Gurukul system of teaching. Yoga Courses vary from certificate courses to Degree, Diploma and Doctorate programmes at the Graduate and Post-Graduate levels.
