Abstract
Background
Yoga as a therapy has been validated scientifically for the past 40 years, which influences all the aspects of our health. Yogic subtle energy healing involves the flow of subtle vital energies such as Vyana prana (all pervasive energy). The endothelial cell lines the internal lumen of all the vasculature and serves as an interface between circulating blood and vascular smooth muscle cells. Recent studies on endothelial dysfunction have been documented in patients with diabetes and in individuals with insulin resistance or at high risk for developing type II diabetes. The regulation of blood flow to a target tissue or organ is governed by Vyana prana, imbalance of which impairs the endothelial dysfunction there by causing detrimental effects in Diabetic patients. Objectives
To establish the above hypothesis there is a need to elucidate the scientific correlations between imbalances in Vyana prana and endothelial dysfunction and to develop a standard Yoga therapy protocol which brings the balance in Vyana prana in diabetic patients Methods
Deductive reasoning leading to a formulation of hypothesis as a basis for future research
Conclusion/Hypothesis
There is potential for yogic energy healing to reverse endothelial dysfunction and vascular angiopathy in the management of diabetes. Keywords
