Abstract

Yoga is a way of life or science of right living and integrated system of education for body, mind and soul. The study focuses on the effect of yoga asanas on the efficiency of players. The main objective was to find out the effect of yoga asanas on the physical efficiency of the students. The procedure was to compare the physical characteristics of players in the age group of 12 to 15 years. Data was collected after various tests of physical fitness betterment.
The sample of 80 was divided into two groups of 40 players, one to the experimental group and other to the control group. Three months training of yoga asanas was given to the experimental group and the control group was not given any yogic practice.
The test was conducted on two occasions. Once before the training of yoga asanas and the second after appropriate training of yoga asana. After the completion of three months training, the performance of control and experimental group were compared on all the tests.
