Abstract
We have three Gurukulas in Karnataka where we are privileged to have proximity with many bubbling and burning young minds. Gurukula has chosen five areas for their learning viz. the Vedic studies, modern and ancient sciences, Yoga practice, organic forming and fine arts. All these areas have practical application in the day to day life. While we analyse those minds watching their behaviour, we examine our own psychic imprints. Our acharyas and matajis are trained in yoga psychology to find out their white and black spots at their psychic level. From the very inception we have been using various parameters like ´É®É, MüiÉ×ïiuÉqÉç (efficiancy), food, dedication, knowledge, courage, intelligence, happiness etc. based on satwa, rajas and tamas categories suggested in the 14th, 17th and 18th chapters of Bhagavadgeeta.
For that we have planned need-based training programmes for our matajis and acharyas. This programme is formulated in the light of in-depth study of the Upanishads, the Geeta and Patanjali yoga sutras. We have developed a questionnaire to counsel our students using the time-tested parameters. This helps us to identify the distinct characteristics of every student at different sheaths of personality.
Mind Calming Method (M.C.M)
Having examined thoroughly the prevailing condition of the mind we apply the Mind Calming Method based on the same Vedic sources. Bhagavan Krishna formulated a model to calm down a distorted mind of various types of ‘PARTHAS’. There is a Buddhiyoga model with which we can examine the roots of the mind and uproot the ‘shoka’ and ‘bhaya’ (mania, phobia and syndromes) causing various types of behavioural abnormalities among the teenagers particularly. In general this yoga helps us to elevate our mind from the trivial conditions to the higher planes.
This elevated mental condition gradually leads to an objective self assessment. This results at restarting the venture in shaping one’s personality and re-establishing one’s suppressed inner capabilities.

By heart one is supposed to dedicate all his actions for welfare of others. One can divinise his logical mind by adopting Buddhiyoga. As buddhi is purified by the spiritualised Yoga practice buddhi becomes very sharp and constructive instrument for personality development. |
