12. Dosimeter
B. Perceptual & Motor Skills
1. Critical flicker fusion electronic apparatus to study visual perception. With better perception subjects can make out a high (>40 Hz) frequency, flickering stimulus.
2. Mueller-Lyer apparatus to record the degree of optical illusion. With greater accuracy of perception, the degree of optical illusion perceived is reduced.
3. Whipple's hand steadiness is used to test the static motor performance, or the ability to keep the hand motionless but steady.
4. Figural convergent production test
5. Symbolic memory test battery
6. Adjustment and personality inventories
7.Home Inventory
8. School Inventory
9. Figural Divergent production test
10.Symbolic Divergent production test
11.Semantic Divergent production test
12.Trial making test for cognitive flexibility
C. Laboratories (equipment): At Prasanti Kutiram, Bangalore
a. Clinical biochemistry 1. Equipment to carry out basic clinical biochemistry such as a spectrometer/colorimeter (Systronix, Bangalore, India), centrifuge, water bath, hot air oven and glassware.
2. A semi-automatic analyzer (Boehringer-Mannheim, Germany).
b. Clinical immunology 1. Laminar Flow Work Station: All immunological serological and cell culture studies are done in this workstation. This is a closed cabinet with vertical airflow through HEPA filters, which prevents entry of aerosols and dust into the workspace, which would otherwise contaminate the immunological samples and culture plates.
2. Cooling Research Centrifuge: Has - 22000 Rpm and Temp range Varying from - 25 degree C to 40-degree C. Used to centrifuge test samples for cell separation.
3. Research Biological Microscope.
4. Micropipettes (variable volume pipettes).
5. Water distillation plant.
6. pH Meter
7. Measuring balance - sensitivity 0.1 mg.
8. Membrane filter holder.
9. Electronic Weighing machine
10. Pentium III computer
11. Vacuum pump
12. Autoclave 25 litres capacity
13. Deep Freezer (- 40 degree C). Used for storing immunological Hits and blood samples. The viability of blood samples is preserved for utmost 2 years from the date of collection.
14. CO Incubator - Used for cell culture studies for culturing immune cells (T Lymphocytes) and evaluating their antigenic response for cancer project.
D. Collaborative Facilities a. Neurophysiology : evoked potential at Deptt. of Neurology, M.S. Ramaiah Medical College & Teaching Hospital, Bangalore
b. Neuroradiology - Brain Imaging using fMRI system of Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences, D.R.D.O, Delhi.
