Chapter 1: (30 hours)
Pátaňjala Yoga Sütras
Unit 1:Introduction to Pátaňjala Yoga Sütras Its Philosophy and Practices
i. Yoga, its meaning & purpose & a brief introduction to Pátaňjala Yoga Sütras and its author.
ii. Nature of Yoga according to Pátaňjala in light of Vyásabhaúya and other traditional commentators, importance of Yoga Sütra in comparison to other Yogic literature.
iii. Concept of Citta, Citta-bhümis, Citta-vřttis, Citta-vřtti nirodhaç (Abhyása and Vairágya) Citta-Vikúepas (Antarayas), Citta-prasádanam and its associates.
iv. Metaphysics of Sáńkhya & its relationship with Yoga Darůna of Pátaňjala, Philosophical Foundations & Practices of Pátaňjala Yogas, its importance & relevance and Yoga Samanvaya.

Unit 2: Samádhi Páda and Sádhana Páda
i. Kriyá-Yoga, Theory of Kleůas nature of Dřúűá & Dřůya and means of elimination of Kleůas/ Vivekakhyati.
ii. Types and nature of Samádhi in Yoga Sütra, Řtambharaprajňá and Adhyatmaprasáda.
iii. Samprajňáta, Asamprajňáta, Sabčja & Nirbčja Samádhi, Difference between Samapattis and Samádhi.
iv. Concept of Čůvara and qualities of Čůvara.

Chapter 2: (30 hours)
Yoga in Bhagavad Gčtá
i. General Introduction to Bhagavad Gčtá (B.G.). Definitions of Yoga in Bhagavad-Gčtá and their relevance & scope.
ii. Essentials of B.G from Chapters II, III, IV, V, VI, XII & XVII: The meanings of the terms Atmasvrüpa, Stithaprajňa, Sáńkhya Yoga, Karma Yoga, Sannyása Yoga and Karma Svarüpa (Sakáma and Niúkáma) etc.
iii.Essentials of B.G (Contd..): Sannyása, Dhyána , Nature of Dhyána, Preparation of Dhyána and Dhyána Yoga etc.
iv. Essentials of B.G. (Contd..): Bhakti, Nature of Bhakti, Means and Goal of Bhakti-Yoga .
v. Essentials of B.G (Contd..): The Triguďas and modes of Prakřti; Three Kinds of Faith. Food for Yoga Sádhaka, Classification of food etc. The Glory of B.G.
