Chapter 1:(10 Hours)
Introduction to Pátaòjala Yoga Sütras,its’Philosophy and Practices and Modern Psychology
i. Yoga, its meaning & purpose & a brief introduction to Pátaòjala Yoga Sütras and its author.
ii. Nature of Yoga according to Pataòjali in light of Vyásabháúya and other traditional commentators, Importance of Yoga Sütra in comparison to other Yogic literature.
iii. Concept of Citta, Citta-bhümis, Citta-vøttis, Citta-Vøtti-Nirodhopáya (Abhyása and Vairágya) Citta-Vikúpas (Antaráyas), Citta-prasádanam and its’ associates.
iv. Metaphysics of Sáñkhya & its’ relationship with Yoga Darùana of Pataòjali, Philosophical Foundations & Practices of Pataòjali’s Yogas, its’ importance & relevance and Yoga Samanvaya.
v. Concept of mind – eastern and western perspective; psychology principles and methods – TA, etc;

Chapter 2:(10 Hours)
Samádhi Páda and Sádhana Páda
i. Kriyá-Yoga, Theory of Kleùas, Nature of Draúûá & Døùya and means of elimination of Kleùas/ Vivekakhyáti.
ii. Types and nature of Samáhi in Yoga Sütra, Øtambharaprajòá and Adhyátmaprasáda.
iii. Samprajòáta, Asamprajòáta, Sabèja & Nirbèja Samádhi, Difference between Samápattis and Samádhi.
iv. Concept of Èùvara and qualities of Èùvara.

Chapter 3:(10 Hours)
Concept of Vibhüti and Kaivalya
i. Aúûáñga Yoga: Yama, Niyama, Asana, Práïáyáma, Pratyáhára, Dháraïá, Dhyána, and Samádhi.
ii. Saýyama & three Pariïámas of Saýyama. The concept and description of Aúûa Siddhis.
iii. Nature of Kaivalya, Kaivalya in relation to Triguïa and Dharmamegha Samádhi.
iv. Aúûáñga Yoga & Kriyá Yoga in Yoga Sütras and their importance & relevance in modern age.
