Chapter 1:(10 hours)
Introduction
1. Introduction and history
2. Physical properties and chemical composition of water
3. Physiological basis of hydrotherapy - the skin and its anatomical construction, functions of the skin, temperature sense.
4. Physiological effects of water on different systems of the body
5. Reflex areas of the body, results of the application of hot and cold over reflex areas
6. Action and reaction, incomplete reaction, conditions that encourage and discourage reactions, internal reaction, thermic reaction, modified thermic reaction.

Chapter 2:(20 hours)
Application
1. General principles of hydrotherapy
a) General rules of hydrotherapy
b) Therapeutic significance of reaction
c) Adaptation of individual cases
d) Exaggeration of symptoms under treatment, the untoward effects and how to avoid them
e) General indication and contra- indication

Chapter 3(20 hours)
Therapeutic actions and use of hydrotherapy
1. Classification of hydriatic effects, general Principles excitation and depression
2. Primary exitent effects when to apply and when not to apply
a. Local haemostatic effects - hydriatic heart tonics
b. Cardiac effects - hydratic heart tonics
c. Uterine excitation ernanogogic effects
d. Vesical excitation
e. Intestinal excitation, peristaltic effect
3. Secondary excitant effects:
a. Restorative effects
b. Tonic effects of cold water
c. Calorific effects
d. Diaphoretic effects
e. Expectorant effects
f. Diuretic effects
g. Revulsive and derivative effects

Chapter 4(10 hours)
1. Resolvent effects
a. Sedatives of the circulatory system
b. Nerve sedatives
c. Anti-thermic and antipuretic effects
d. Secretory and sedative effects prophylactic-uses
2. The techniques of hydrotherapy
3. Various baths
4. Pool Therapy
5. Enema
