Biochemistry:
1. Biochemistry of blood-outline of synthesis and degradation of heme, function of Hemoglobin, abnormal, Jaundice, importance, function and separation of plasma proteins, function of immunoglobulins, regulation of PH of blood, role of kidney and lungs in maintaining PH of blood acidosis and alkalosis.
2. Liver function-liver function tests, De-toxification mechanisms.

Pathology:
1. Disorders of RBC-
a) Definition, morphologic and Etio-pathologic classification of anemias
b) Iron deficiency anemia, B12 and folate deficiency anemia, sideroblastic anemia, and posttherrnorrhagic anemia
c) Aquired hemolytic anemia and apiastic anemia
d) Polycythemia
e) Laboratory investigations in anemia

2. Disorders of WBC
a) Leukopenia, Leukocytosis
b) Leukaemia, Agranulocytosis and tropical Eosinophilia
3. Coagulation and bleeding disorders
a) Structure, function and pathology of platelets
b) Definition and classification of bfood dyscrasias
c) Laboratory investigations in bleeding disorders
4. Diseases of Lymph nodes and spleen-
a) Lymphadenopathy
b) Malignant lymphornas and spleenomegaly

Mrdicine:
1. Disorders of the Platelet and Vessel Wall
2. Disorders of Coagulation and Thrombosis
3. Antiplatelet, Anticoagulant, and Fibrinolytic Therapy
4. Anemia and Polycythemia, High Hb, Bleeding disorders, thrombocytopenia, venous thrombosis,
5. Leukaemia, lymphadenopathy
6. Lecocytes : Variation in health and disease
7. Thrombocytes: Variation in health and disease
8. Haemostasis: Fate of clot and disorders of clotting

Diagnosis:
Haematological parameters: Hb, Hct, RBC, WBC, ESR, Screening for bleeding disorders: cloting time, bleeding time, Prothrombin time.
