Chapter 1 (15 hours)
Sankhya and Yoga

i Introduction, 3-fold afflictions, means to overcome afflictions, 25 entities according to Sankhya and means of knowledge.
ii Shatkarya väda, similarities and dissimilarities between vyakta and avyakta, triguna.
iii Existence of purusa, plurality of purusa, proximity of purusa and prakrti.
iv Karana, Antashkarana & Bahyakarana according to Sankhya karika and Ishvarkrishna.

Chapter 2 (15 hours)
Charvka, Jaina & Bauddha

i Concept of Charvaka philosophy in the sad darshanas.
ii Early Buddhism, rules and disciplines of Buddhists tradition.
iii The concept of rebirth, origin of suffering and the way to remove suffering in Buddhism.
iv The concept of jiva, ajiva, syadvada according to Jainism.

Chapter 3 (15 hours)
Nyaya & Vaishesika

I Concept of Nyaya philosophy means of salvation according to Nyaya and Vaishesika.
ii The sixteen Padarthas according to Nyaya, means and objects of knowledge according to Nyaya and Vaishesika.
iii Relation between Nyaya and Vaishesika philosophy.
iv Perception (Pratyaksa), inference (Anumana), comparison (Upamana) according to Nyaya and Vaishesika.

Chapter 4 (15 hours)
Mimamsa

i Uttara mimamsa: Concept of Badarayana in Uttara mimamsa, Pramana, Pratyaksa, Anumana, Shabda according to Uttara mimamsa.
ii Difference between vidya & avidya, subject & object, creation & causation, cause & effect.
iii Purva mimamsa: Purva mimamsa in sad darshana.
iv Pramanas of Jaimini, Atheism in Purva mimamsa.
