Applicants to Bachelor's degree should have II PUC or plus two or equivalent (total of 12 years of study) plus
YIC.
All applicants to Master's Degree must have earned a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Preference will be given to those who possess Bachelor's degree in Yogic sciences. This Bachelor's degree program must include a minimum of two theory and two practical courses (six plus four credits) in areas of yoga and its applications. The students, who do not have such subjects in their course, but otherwise qualify for admission, will be admitted provisionally. Their admission will be confirmed after they have successfully completed equivalent Credits (non-credit towards the graduate program) in relevant subjects. In certain extraordinary cases the selection committee may offer direct admission to Master's program based on the merit and the special personality traits of the students; but they have to complete the basic courses (six plus four credits) for confirmation of their admission.
For MD (Yoga and Rehabilitation) program the applicant should be a Medical Graduate from a recognized University plus
YIC of SVYASA or ten non-credit courses in areas of yoga and its applications)
For Doctoral Degree (PhD) programs, the applicant should possess a Master's degree or equivalent (16 to 17 years of study like an Engineering Degree or a Medical Degree) from any accredited University of the world and
Yoga Instructors Course (YIC). Preference will be given to those who possess Master's degree in Yogic sciences. The Master's degree program or equivalent degree must include a minimum of six courses in each theory and practice of yoga (28 credits) in areas of yoga and its applications (core courses for MSc or equivalent). The students, who do not have such courses in their degree programs, but otherwise qualify for admission, will be admitted provisionally. Their admission will be confirmed after they have successfully completed equivalent credits (non-credit towards the PhD program) in relevant subjects. In the case of some extraordinary students (as for example, those who have published research papers, the selection committee may give direct admission to PhD without Master's or Bachelor's degree based on the merit and the special personality traits of the students; but they have to complete the basic courses prescribed for eligibility for PhD for confirmation of their admission.
Yogasri Degree is a post-doctoral degree equivalent to DSc degree awarded to selected persons for their outstanding contributions in the field of yoga.
Credit for previous work

Credit may be granted for previous course work from other approved institutions or Universities for professional training when equivalency and relevancy to the course curriculum at SVYASA can be verified. Also, SVYASA has a provision for giving academic credit for short-term courses run by SVYASA or other accredited Institutions, Deemed and/ or Universities, informal training programs and social service activities with selfless attitude that may be applicable towards certain courses in the graduate studies programs of the student.
